How are you different from other bridal shops?
SPARKLE bridal couture is different because we are a Plus Size Bridal Salon and ONLY carry sizes 14-30. Yeah! At SPARKLE we pride ourselves on being the first West Coast premiere bridal salon solely dedicated to chic bridal and stylish special occasion sizes 14-30. Since shopping at SPARKLE bridal couture is like visiting 4-6 different stores in one, our SPARKLE brides save time, energy and gas while enjoying a stress-free and fun experience! Also, SPARKLE gowns are made for you and your curves! So you’ll feel confident knowing that each SPARKLE gown is constructed with the best support, fabric and embellishments to enhance your figure and show off your best features.
Do I need to make an appointment?
Our bridal stylists are dedicated to giving you the “true SPARKLE bridal experience” you deserve; therefore, we do require appointments for both bridal and cocktail/special occasion gowns. We are known for our one stylist-one client service, and we want you to experience that for yourself. If you do not have an appointment and wish to visit us immediately, please call or text 916-538-6615 ahead, pending our schedule, we may be able to accommodate your impromptu visit.
How far in advance should I make an appointment?
You should call SPARKLE as soon as you know you are available and ready to find your dress. Our most popular appointments occur during the evening, Saturdays and Sundays. How long is my appointment?
Weekday bridal appointments are 1 hour. Weekend bridal appointments are 1.5 hours. Your bridal stylist will take the time to discuss your wedding details, listen to your ideas and offer suggestions. All other appointment types are between 1/2 an hour to 1 hour.
What should I bring to my appointment?
You are welcomed to bring any pictures you may have for ideas, but this is not necessary. And bring an open mind: don’t be surprised if you find your SPARKLE gown on your first visit. Many of our SPARKLE brides have!
You may bring a strapless bra, but it is not necessary. Please wear proper/clean undergarments, and full coverage underwear, please no thongs.
Who should accompany me to my appointment?
You can bring up to 3 of your closest family members and/or friend whose opinion you value and feel you must have to purchase your dress. These are the persons with whom you want to share the experience of buying your gown. We do offer larger group bridal experiences if you prefer more guests to join you. To save you and your guests time, stress and money, we encourage you to bring the people you need to help make a decision the day of your appointment.
I found the SPARKLE gown of my dreams, but I am not ready to purchase yet (I’m not ready financially or I want my mom/sister/bff to see it); will you hold the gown for me?
Sorry to say, but we are unable to hold gowns at SPARKLE bridal couture. We couldn’t deprive another bride of the opportunity to try it on and fall in love, and we have no control over when a design will be retired or prices change due to manufacturing or material costs. To save you and your guests time, stress and money, we encourage you to book your appointment when you are financially prepared and bring the people you need to help you make a decision the day of your appointment.
How do I pay for my SPARKLE gown?
Most people pay for their gown in full at the time of purchase. For our formal bridal gowns, we do allow 50% payment at time of order and remaining 50% due within 30 days. We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, and debit cards as well as cash. We do not accept checks. Due to the nature of bridal attire and formal wear, all sales are final.
What is the price range of SPARKLE gowns?
Let your SPARKLE Stylist know your actual budget and they will help you find the best SPARKLE gown for you. In general, our formal bridal gowns range from $1200 to $3500. Our cocktail dresses and special occasion gowns range from $225-$550.
May I take pictures of the SPARKLE gowns I try on?
Due to copyright and privacy laws, we do not allow photos of our merchandise prior to purchase. We’re happy to take photos of you with our Ipad as you try on gowns so you can see yourself and compare your selections. Once you have purchased your SPARKLE gown, accessories, etc., you may take as many pictures as you like and we’ll send you the photos we took of you in your SPARKLE gown – Paparazzi Please!
Can I complete my entire look in one appointment?
Absolutely! Many SPARKLE brides find their dress on their first visit to our showroom, and they also find all their accessories (veils, headpieces, jewelry etc) on their first visit too. Since all our accessories are made to pair and match our gowns, they are the best choice to have a complete look in your wedding photos.
I’m planning on losing weight, what should I do?
Buy the SPARKLE gown that fits your current body and if you reach your weight goals it will be easy to alter to fit you beautifully. If you don’t, so what! You’ll be relieved that your SPARKLE gown looks and feels amazing and fits beautifully. Remember they fell in love with you the way you are, not the way you hope to be.
When do I need to order my SPARKLE gown?
We will work with you to determine order and delivery deadlines for items you have selected. We generally recommend ordering your gown at least 8-12 months before your wedding date. That seems like a long time out, but right now it can take up to 8 months from the time of ordering your gown to the date it arrives, and gowns with custom changes may take longer. It’s best to leave 2-4 months of buffer time so you have plenty of time to accommodate for alterations and any unforeseen circumstances (Hello Covid and Supply Chain issues!) prior to your wedding date. Special occasion gowns, cocktail dresses, bridesmaids and mother of the bride/groom dresses have a unique timeline, so it’s best to discuss this with your bridal stylist. Should you need a gown quickly, we have gowns directly from our showroom floor available. Rush cuts are also available, for an additional fee.
Should I get a sitter for the kids?
As much as we love children, children do not love bridal salons. We strongly recommend you not bring them to any bridal salon. From a child’s perspective, a bridal salon is not a very fun place to be. They’re expected to sit still for an hour or more and can’t touch anything. Additionally, there could be safety hazards, like loose pins, needles, or small objects like beads that they can put in their mouths. It’s also important to get a sitter because the appointment is a time for you to relax and focus on yourself, with no distractions.
Do you do alterations in-house?
We do not do alterations on-site, but SPARKLE brides do have access to the top wedding dress and formalwear seamstresses in the area. These experts specifically work on bridal and formal attire and consistently meet the quality demands that we, and more importantly, our brides, expect. Alterations are not included in the price of the gown.
